| Thomson Jemmett Vogelzang has prepared a comprehensive
group of programs to suit the insurance needs of Canadian Yachting
Association members. The programs are as follows ...
Sailing School Liability
As sailing schools are not automatically covered under the Club's
general liability coverage, CYA members have access to a program
that was designed to cover "all operations which are normal
to the teaching of sailing." This program covers both youth
and adult "learn to sail" programs against bodily injury
and property damage claims from third parties. The coverage includes
on land activities as well as on water activities of the sailing
program.

On Water Regatta Liability
Regatta liability coverage is taken out by Clubs and Associations
to protect themselves against bodily injury lawsuits for accidents
that occur on the water. This policy covers the Club (officers,
directors, committee members, judges, sponsors, volunteers and
employees). It is intended to cover all regattas held during the
year as well as regular club races that may be held throughout
the racing season.

CYA Instructor Liability
All current CYA sailing and power boat instructors have a personal
liability policy in force through the CYAs master policy.
The policy covers the individual instructor against third party
bodily injury or property damage claims with a limit of $5,000,000.
If the instructor is covered under his employers policy then this
coverage becomes secondary and acts as an additional layer of
coverage.
